Circle Battle Box

More work done on the Circle box set. I put most of my work into Kaya. I need to go over the mettalics again and then green wash them again but I like the color scheme so far.
I also worked on the face of the first Argus. Not sure I'm happy with them yet but paint to miniature is a step in the right direction.
Next will be finishing up Kaya and then starting the other Argus and the Feral Warpwolf.
Also have to work on my camera skills.

Two days in a row

Continuing from yesterday I threw another coat of red on the Juggernaut. I definitely think that looks better.
Next I started on his battle box mate, the Destroyer. Definitely need a couple coats of red over that black primer.
Next, I also finally started on painting my Circle Orboros warlock Kaya the Wildborne. She was part of the first set of Hordes miniatures I bought so its about time I finally started painting her.

I hope to keep this momentum going this weekend. I'd love to have a whole battle box force painted by this time next week.

Painting Khador

So I'm on the late shift at work and that allows me to get some of my project work done. Last couple nights has been working on papercraft terrain for my Iron Kingdoms game I just started running. Tonight I turned to painting the starter box sets I have for Warmachine/Hordes. I started on my Khador Juggernaut since big red things jumped out as a good place to get back into the swing of painting. So far its just some Khador red base over black primer. I hope to get this and the Destroyer covered in a majority of the red base. I'm not convinced to finish the entire Khador set before moving on. We'll see how my motivation keeps up when I'm back to my regular shift.

Projects

Once upon a time I was going to start a podcast about gaming. Well to be honest it was first about pop culture in general and then it got narrowed down to gaming. We even got together to brainstorm ideas and create the website layout. Unfortunately life got in the way and the podcast was given a lower priority then most other things and it has since been relegated to running joke about how we will totally work on that. Those problems aside we still couldn't really nail down what the show would be about. We never really decided if it would be a video show or just audio. We couldn't decide if we were a review or rant or forecasting show. I'm still not sure what I would want to do with a show. I had things I wanted to talk about just like on other podcasts I've listened to but I don't know if people want to listen to my nasally droning voice talk about some of that stuff. I figure though that the best way to find out would be to put out such a show in horrible raw unpolished goodness and see if it can't be polished to something I'd be proud of.

Geek ADD

So I call it geek ADD when I can't concentrate on one particular flavor of my interests for any length of time. So lately I've been reading more about the Iron Kindoms RPG. Privateer Press's new version of their RPG line. They redid the rules coming from d20 to something like the Warmachine/Hordes rules but tweaked for rpging. It feels like how Warzone and Mutant Chronicles were related. The good news was the moved up the release date of the book. The bad part was that it came out my first day of vacation after my flight left. So I don't pick it up until next week.

On that note I will update you after getting the book and how it feels.

So here are three of the miniatures that I was working on last night. These arent the best posed pictures because I just took them really quickly on my phone, but they should get across the details fairly well. Also I learned that my new phone has a pretty awesome camera on it. So first Major Siege Brisbane.

I've been working on this model for quite a while. I lost his original hammer sometime while gaming in years gone by. Ordered a new one from PP and finally got around to painting it enough to glue onto the model. I need to go over him with some washes I think to dull down some of the colors but I like how he looks so far.

Next up is a Sword Knight.

I've been hesitant to work on this unit because it consists of so much metallic. I started with just a couple of spots so far to see if I liked the way it looked. Hopefully I'll continue on with this guy soon and be able to work on the rest of the unit. Since I have a full unit and a half of them.

Finally of my WIP minis. The Bloodtracker.

This model is quite a bit different from all the others that I've been working on. She's mostly skin and hides. I've never had to paint a figure that had so many skin tone colors on so skinny a model. She's tricky but I think I'll have a color scheme that I'll enjoy and be able to replicate across the other faction models that share her theme.

And just to show you that I do finish models from time to time. Here is my Haley1 Alt Sculpt.

I really am happy with how she came out. Unfortunately none of my opponents are as happy when they see her on the table.

So far here is my update. I'm going to try and get pictures of my other works in progress and finished models. Mostly so I can have a record of what I've got done and what I have to work on. If you have any questions about anything please let me know. Until next time.

Checking the calendar it looks like it's a quarter past haven't updated in 2 years. I won't make any promises referring to how often I'm going to update this blog. I will be going through and cataloging all of my current projects and goals for each of them. You know, like what I had planned to do two years ago when I started this.
